Wildflowers
As throughout the state of Texas, wildflowers are abundant in the Lake Whitney area. Bluebonnets, the Texas state flower, tend to peak the first half of April, depending on temperatures and winter rainfalls.
Indian Blanket, Indian Paintbrush, and Pink Evening Primrose blanket the roadsides in early springtime, and Mexican hat appears in the late spring.
The roadside along FM 933, about 5 miles north of town, tends to have a spectacular display. Further north, the main roads through White Bluff Resort also put on a colorful display.
