Each resident of Hill County ESD #2 is automatically protected by a Caring-Heart Membership. If you live in Hill County outside the city limits of the exception cities of Whitney, Hillsboro, Mertens and Mt. Calm and are transported by CareFlite ground or air ambulance, you are not responsible for any balance bill that is more than your insurance pays. If you have no insurance, you receive a 50% discount off of CareFlite’s standard rates. The State of Texas prohibits Medicaid recipients from enrolling in this membership program. Membership benefits are inapplicable to other providers with the exception of Air Life in San Antonio and Halo Flight in Corpus Christi who currently have a reciprocal agreement with CareFlite.
