Chamber of Commerce – Community Benefits

community07As the front door of the community, the Lake Whitney Chamber of Commerce welcomes newcomers, visitors, and all others making inquiries about the community. Lake Whitney’s state-recognized designation as the official “Getaway Capital of Texas” is used by the Chamber to promote a cohesive marketing plan.

community05-2A full color brochure and rack cards are published by the Chamber. These publications are distributed at the Chamber office, by mail, at highway information stations and at the Dallas Boat Show. The Chamber maintains two billboards on I-35 to attract visitors to the area. Awareness of the Lake Whitney area is also enhanced through the Chamber’s website.

community06The very popular Pioneer Day festival, which is an annual Chamber project, contributes to the financial well-being of the entire community as well as providing a venue for local non-profits to earn money via food booths. An annual Chamber of Commerce Awards Dinner recognizes the outstanding members of the community.

The Chamber distributes 25,000 copies of the annual “Visitor’s Guide to Lake Whitney”. Visitors pick up a copy of this at many local businesses to get information on the community, and the businesses that advertise in the guide. The Lake Whitney Chamber understands the need to co-operate with other local chambers to promote the entire area as a great place to live, to play, or to retire. Participation in the Chamber of Commerce is an investment in a better local community.
