Bio

Twenty one year-old Holly Tucker has accomplished a lot, in the past 9 years, since beginning her career in country music, but her musical story begins even before she was born.  Her parents, Johnny and Cheryl Tucker, founded a Christian band, in the early 1980s, called Revised Edition, home-based in Waco, Texas.   After traveling extensively throughout the states, making music, and delivering a message, for seven years, they married, and had three beautiful children, who all share their love of music.

Holly, the youngest, began singing as a toddler, and performed on stage, for the first time, at her home church, First Baptist Church of Woodway, in Waco, when she was just seven years old.   She got serious about her country music career, around the age of twelve, traveling the highways of Texas, and Louisiana, singing in country music shows, talent competitions, patriotic events, churches, local opry shows, fairs, festivals, and radio shows.

Holly recorded her first full-length CD, “It’s About Time”, in Waco, at age fourteen, with producer, Dick Gimble, son of Western Swing fiddle legend, Johnny Gimble.   At fifteen, she traveled to Nashville, to lend her voice to a 4-song writer’s demo, for Chris Wommack, which became her second CD, “For You”.   At sixteen years old, she began work on her second full-length CD, entitled “Love Is What She Likes”, a two-year process, which was released in 2011.   Early in 2012, her Freshman year at Baylor University, Holly was selected as an artist, for a student-run record label, called Uproar Records, and recorded an all-original, three-song EP, entitled “Something To Be Said”.   These four projects allowed Holly to find her voice, and a sound that is truly pleasing to audiences of all ages.   In addition to following her ultimate dream of being a solo artist, in the country music industry, Holly plays the guitar, piano, and alto saxophone.   She is writing songs, and co-writing with other songwriters, especially during her regular visits to Nashville, in preparation for her next musical release.   In the midst of this busy music career, she graduated from Lorena High School, with honors, and is currently a Junior at Baylor University,  majoring in Speech Communications.

Holly’s recent success on Season Four of NBC TVThe Voice, began in July, 2012, when she happened to be in Dallas for a different singing opportunity, and she heard about the open call auditions, for the show.   She decided to audition, at the last minute, and after completing several callback auditions, and an on-camera interview, she received a special invitation to Los Angeles, to compete for a spot on the show’s “Blind Auditions”.
