CAR SHOW AND PET PARADE PRESS RELEASE

The 4th. Annual Discover Downtown Whitney and Classic Car show was a tremendous success with 63 vehicles entered and over 2,000 people in attendance.  The trophies were presented by the 2014 Miss Pioneer Day Kendra Ramsey and picture #093 are just some of the winners & participants.

The Peoples Choice Award, voted on by the general public, was Paul Warrick of Cleburne with his 1940 F100 Pick up truck.

The 50/50 raffle money of $53.00 was won by Robert Comer of Whitney and the other $53.00 will be mailed to the American Cancer Society to honor October Breast Cancer month.

The Halloween Haunted House Inflatible raffle was won by Jason Linnenkugal of Whitney. “Cool Treats” of Whitney were here selling sodas and Blue Bell Ice Cream and we thank them for attending.

The Bosque County Classic Car Club also showed up as entrants and brought many door prizes for us to give away and gave a trophy from their club to Woody Thomas of Whitney with his 1953 Nash Metropolitan.  The Chamber is so appreciative of their generosity and participation in our Whitney Classic Car Show.

Our goal is to have 100 vehicles entered for the last Saturday in October of 2015 and we

thank the City of Whitney for allowing us the space and for all the merchants as we surrounded

their businesses with cars, trucks, motorcycles, lawn mowers and animals.
