German Exchange Students Vistors

On Wednesday, April 8, 2015, 14 German Exchange students from the Free Christian School in Frankfort, Germany visited the Lake Whitney Chamber of Commerce with two of their teachers. On the left standing by the lamp in a white shirt is James Atwell a 1991 WISD Graduate who not only teaches computer science at their school but is their Pastor.  On the far right in the red shirt is WISD Graduate of 2007 Matt Suomi.  He met and married a German  exchange student and teaches History and Geography at their school.  Gift bags were presented to all 14 students and a brief history of what our Chamber of Commerce does was given by Executive Secretary-Treasurer Diana Reed.

This is the 25th. group that has participated in the Exchange program with Whitney High School and their German teacher here is Frau Lisa Mays.  They also visited the Whitney Area Museum, the Whitney Volunteer Fire Department, had lunch at Nate’s Colorado Street Grille and toured downtown Whitney.  This was a great visit for our Chamber and we hope for them.
