2015 Pioneer Day Pageant Winners

On Saturday, July 25, 2015, the Lake Whitney Chamber of Commerce held the 5th. Annual Miss, Jr. Miss & ‘Lil Miss Pioneer Day pageant at Lake Whitney Arts in Whitney.

An overflow crowd was on hand to see Montana Aspen Dawn Meyer, daughter of Toby & Tiffany Meyer of Whitney, crowned the new 2015 Miss Pioneer Day.  She is 17 yrs. old and will be a senior in the fall at Whitney High School.  1st. runner up was 19 yr. old Danielle Mooney, daughter of Kim & Billy Mooney of Whitney and a 2014 graduate of Aquilla ISD..  2nd. runnerup was 15 yr. old Caitlyn Paige Moore, daughter of Angela Moore & Jeffrey Moore of Whitney and an upcoming sophomore at Whitney High School.   3rd. runner up was 17 yr. old Emily Cecil, daughter of Debi Cecil and the late Charles Cecil of Whitney, who will be a senior in the fall at Whitney High School.

The 2015 Jr. Miss Pioneer Day is Jordyn Barsh, 13 yr. old daughter of Brandon & Candice Barsh who is in the Junior High at Aquilla ISD. 1st. runner up was 11 yr. old Reagan Pavelka, daughter of Dwayne & Amy Pavelka.  She will enter the 7th. grade at Whitney Middle School next month.  2nd. runner up was Trista Michelle Charo, 14 yr. old daughter of Marc & Tanya Moore and Manuel & Patricia Charo. She will be a freshman at Aquilla ISD in the fall.

The 2015 ‘Lil Miss Pioneer Day Brynlie Vantreese, 5 yr. old daughter of Ray & Stephanie Vantreese of Hillsboro.  She will be entering kindergarten in the fall.  1st. runner up was 8 yr. old Kyla Sneed, daughter of Jason & Kara Sneed who will enter 3rd. grade at Whitney Intermediate School next month.  2nd. runner up was 5 yr. old  Ashlynn Grace Northcutt, daughter of Chad & Veronica Payne and she will be at Whitney Elementary school this year.  3rd runner up is 5 yr. old Taryn Anne Ross, daughter of Joshua Ross and Dallas Merrill.  She starts kindergarten in the fall at Whitney Elementary.  4th. runner up is 5 yr. old Kaylee Michelle Liberto, Ashlee and Michael Liberto are her parents and she will be in kindergarten at Blum ISD.  There were six Honorable Mention contestants:  Layla Oliver, 9 yr. old daughter of Jason & Jennifer Oliver of Whitney,  Julianna Lattin, 9 yr. old daughter of Cinderella & Scott Lattin of Whitney, Cheyenne Wright, 6 yr. old daughter of Crystal Wright of Whitney, Sydney Jimenez, 8 yr. old daughter of Angela Dodd Dill & Jeremy Dill of Whitney, Abigail Valero, 8 yr. old daughter of Chad & Michelle Valero of Abbott and Alysa Ward, 6 yr. old daughter of Emily & Larry Ward of Whitney.

Also honored were previous pageant winners from 2011 to 2013:  2011 Miss Pioneer Day, Samantha Infante, 2011 Junior Miss Pioneer Day Kaylee Dilworth, 2012 Jr. Miss Pioneer Day Sierra Cox, 2012 ‘Lil Miss Pioneer Day Kandyce Dilworth.

Outgoing winners were 2014 Miss Pioneer Day Kendra Ramsey, daughter of Kenny & Kadra Ramsey, 2014 Jr. Miss Pioneer Day Kaylin Hooten, daughter of Chad & Kristen Hooten and 2014 ‘Lil Miss Pioneer Day Camy Barsh, daughter of Brandon & Candice Barsh.   During their final walk, before crowning their successors,  these former winners were singled out for their work this past year and their grace in honoring their titles.

The 2015 Miss, Jr. Miss & ‘Lil Miss winners will reign over the 40th. Annual Pioneer Day Festival on October 3, 2015, plus ride in the Sept. 5th. West Fest parade, pass out trophies and gifts at the 5th. Annual Classic Car Show, ride in the lighted Christmas parade on December 12th. and be honored at the 2016 Chamber Awards banquet in February.    We congratulate all the winners and thank the sponsors, volunteers and parents/guardians for their participation in making this pageant such a success.
